Roberta® - Girls Discover Robots
Up one level Roberta is the name of the nice looking female robot.
The identically named project uses the fascination of robots and their development to convey knowledge about engineering and computer science in an exciting way to pupils, in particular to female pupils.
Roberta takes girls and young women into the fascinating world of
robots, where they can learn science, technology and IT in an exciting
and realistic way. Using real robots! Roberta instructors are specially
trained and teaching and learning materials tailored for girls have
been developed and tested. The attractiveness and quality of the
courses are evaluated by means of a supplementary research program. In
Germany we have built up a network of regional centers to help support
local course instructors. In Germany, such centers are currently active
in Berlin, Bremen, Coburg, Duisburg, Hamburg, Hannover, Herford,
Koblenz, Magdeburg, Senden, and Sankt Augustin.
