This is a high-quality 3mm B/BB grade Birch-faced plywood sheet (laserply) measuring 600mm x 400mm that is suitable for a wide range of applications and is particularly suited to laser cutting. Both faces feature decorative Birch veneers and the core is of Poplar plywood. The Poplar core has a lower density than all-Birch plywood, meaning that it can be easily laser cut at lower power settings. Additionally, the poplar core means that the sheets are lighter than birch plywood sheets. The B grade face veneer: This grade shows the natural look of the wood. There will be changes in colour that show the grain pattern. Sound, smooth knots are allowed and these will typically be under 15mm to 35mm in diameter (depending on the countries grading rules). The surface should normally be free from open knots and plugs. The material should be suitable for paint/stain or a lacquered finish. The BB grade back veneer: This grade is similar to the B grade but allows for larger knots and repairs to the face. Sound, smooth knots are allowed and these will typically be under 50mm in diameter. Open knots can be repaired with wooden plugs. The material should be suitable for applications where the visual look is not critical. This plywood uses an EN314-2 Class 1 glue which is suitable for Interior (dry) conditions. Interior glue is generally considered the preferred option for materials that are to be laser cut. This is because the exterior glues can cause a more obvious 'burnt' look on and around the area that is cut. The woods used in this sheet are cultivated wood that grows quickly, which makes it a very sustainable product. This material is PEFC and FSC-certified.

This is a high quality 3mm BR Grade, Birch Laser Plywood sheet produced in Finland which is suitable for a wide range of applications and is suitable for laser cutting. This is BR 'veneer' grade Birch Plywood. This is similar to B grade material, with knots that would typically not exceed 7mm to 8mm in diameter. It shows the natural look of the wood and will show natural colour variations. These plywoods are used in specialist applications and tend to have a slightly higher quality feel. The surface of the material is sanded to a smoother finish than that of most plywoods. This plywood uses an EN314-2 Class 1 glue which is suitable for interior (dry) conditions. Interior glue is generally considered the preferred option for materials that are to be laser cut. We use interior glues because exterior glues can cause a more obvious 'burnt' look on and around the area that is cut. This material is PEFC certified. The wood fibres are then broken and finally it is also pre-sanded with a 150 grain. This gives a flexible sheet of high quality wood veneer. The rear face of the veneered sheet is covered in a paper backing that is a similar colour to the chosen wood. These veneered sheets can easily be cut with a knife or laser cutter.

This high quality A grade Ash Veneer Plywood Sheet (laserply) with a Chinese poplar underside and core is ideal for structural projects requiring a high-quality appearance and finish on the topside and panelling. Knots or resin within the material can cause scorch marks when used on a laser cutter. These can usually be removed with fine grade wet and dry sandpaper. Please note: As wood is a natural product, there is often a crook or bow to the sheet. The natural twist might be in excess of 25mm (see below - Tolerances and Caution). This product is most suitable for applications where a high quality outside surface is needed where visual aspects on the underside are not critical. This is a 'Crown Cut' veneer with A grade topside quality. A wood veneer is not like an artificial surface such as melamine or a laminate. It is cut from the log and therefore has it’s own unique grain, texture, and colour. There are two different cuts that can be used in veneer production: 'Quarter Cut' are cut at 90 degrees, producing the effect of a straight grain.'Crown Cut' are sliced through the log, producing 'Crowns'. This adds more character to the overall finish (as used in this product).Features: High quality A grade Ash Veneer laser plywood sheet (laserply). Veneer thickness approximately 0.5mm. Description This is a high quality 1.5mm Oak Veneered Okoume core Plywood sheet (laserply) which is suitable for a wide range of applications and is suitable for laser cutting. Due to it's Okoume core, it is lighter and more flexible than comparable products.  These thinner plywoods are used in specialist applications and tend to have a slightly higher quality feel. The surface of the material is sanded to a smoother finish than that of most plywoods. Okoume peels and slices easily and evenly, and this combines with its good acceptance of glue to give it wide use as veneer and being processed into plywood. Okoume is very soft and has a very low density and when processed into plywood it makes the combined plywood layers more flexible and lightweight. When flexed, Okoume core plywoods will flex without cracking and won't lose shape like a veneer can when flexed. The glue used in the core is Melamine. EN 314 cl. 2 which maintains its integrity in humid conditions and is less influenced by moisture percentage changes. Note: As wood is a natural product there is often a bow or crook to plywood and in some cases a twist. We have measured curvature of as much as a 25mm rise between the flat centre of the plywood and the corner, therefore if using on a laser cutter these sheets should be strapped/taped to the laser bed before cutting. All of our plywoods, bar this one, use EN 314 cl. 1 bonding glue, which is classified as for indoor use. These 1.5mm Oak Veneered Okoume core Plywood sheets use EN 314 cl. 2 bonding glue which makes the plywood more resistant to moisture. Care should be taken when laser cutting as EN 314 cl. 2 is more easily scorched than EN 314 cl. 1.  Features: Oak veneered plywood sheets (laserply) suitable for laser cutting.
